Allegheny Outfitters is a family-run operation with two locations on the Allegheny River, in the northwestern corner of the Pennsylvania Wilds region. The company has been around for more than 25 years and helped scores of people of all skill levels and abilities enjoy the natural wonders of the Allegheny River, Allegheny National Forest and other wildlife areas.
The mission of Allegheny Outfitters is to connect people to their natural surroundings in a way that is safe and meaningful and keeps them returning to the region for years to come. The company hopes to inspire healthy living, community spirit and good stewardship through creative tours and programming; friendly, knowledgeable, down-to-earth service; and quality gear at a fair price.
Piper and Josh Lindell own Allegheny Outfitters. Born and raised in the area, the Lindells are paddlers and anglers themselves and take pride in learning everything they can about the river and its surroundings so they can pass that knowledge on to customers. The Lindells are the creators and publishers of the Allegheny River Paddling Guide, and also founders and sponsors of the annual 5-day Allegheny River Clean-Up.
The Lindells hold several certifications and degrees related to their business and have earned a number of awards and recognitions for their stewardship and tourism development efforts.
